Cynthia Propper Seton (October 11, 1926 – October 23, 1982) was an American novelist and essayist. Born in New York City, Seton graduated from the Fieldston School and then Smith College in 1948.〔(New York Times obituary for Cynthia Propper Seton )〕 Her novel ''A Fine Romance'' was nominated for the National Book Award for Fiction in 1976.
